  • Concessions: £3.80
  • Children: £3.20
  • Family (two adults and up to three children): £14.00

How Accessible is the Model Village?

Some of the Model Village is accessible, other parts not, but the main part can be seen. However, it really depends on the wheels of the wheelchair as they can buckle on the flagstone paving.

When people arrive at the Model Village, we ask a companion to do a recce to see if they think it is possible, partly also because the whole site is on a slope, so the return journey is a bit strenuous. We do not have a car park but there is on-street parking pretty much outside our premises. There is also parking at West Street car park, which you can access via the Square, driving past our property and taking the first right. It is a level walk to the village rather than parking at the National Trust at the base of the castle.

We also do not have disabled toilets but the National Trust have some at the entrance to their castle a very short distance away. Our Gift Shop and Tea Room is fully accessible.

We also have Braille and large print menus in our Tea Room, and a hearing loop system in our Gift Shop.

Are Dogs Welcome?

Dogs are allowed on a lead throughout the whole attraction, including the Tea Room. There is a water bowl at the entrance to the Gift Shop and on our terrace in the garden.

Is There Parking?

We do not have a car park but there is on-street parking for one hour in the Square. The nearest level car park is in West Street. Alternatively, there is parking at Norden Park and Ride, where you can then either walk to the village or catch the train. Finally, there is parking at the base of the castle at the National Trust Heritage Centre.
